FRIDAY RECAP – Ramos, Creig lift Terriers past Mils in first Highway 10 Rivalry of year

REGINA, SK – Nathan Ramos led the way with a goal and an assist, and Callum Creig stopped 21 shots as the Yorkton Terriers downed the Melville Millionaires 3-1 in Friday’s first Highway 10 Rivalry clash of the season.

Noah Kraus made 27 saves in defeat, while Alex Morrison’s fifth of the year, and fourth goal in his last four contests, held up as the winner.

Torren Budgell had Melville’s lone marker.

Finn Werner stopped all 24 shots he faced, and five different scorers helped the Flin Flon Bombers cruise to a 5-0 win over the Estevan Bruins.

Dylan Caron and Hudson Brehaut each scored and recorded an assist as Flin Flon opened a six-game home stretch with the win.

In La Ronge, Ryan Gibbs’ two helpers helped the Weyburn Red Wings win 5-2 over the Ice Wolves.

Jaxson Doyle’s third of the year came 3:21 into the second period and proved the winner, while Nate Stevens made 21 saves in the victory.

Keagin Kelln replied with 32 saves in defeat.

Warman’s regulation unbeaten run ended at seven as the Kindersley Klippers scored three times in the third period to rally to a 4-2 win over the Wolverines.

Konnor Watson led the way with two goals, and the veteran forward now has points in all four games he’s played this season.

Mattias Radke made 35 saves in the win and has a .939 save percentage over his last two starts.

In Battlefords, in the rink where his big brother Josh used to dominate, Melfort goaltender Nick Kotai stopped all 32 shots he faced to help the Mustangs blank the North Stars 2-0.

It was the first shutout of Kotai’s junior career.

Luke MacKenzie and Matthew Bertolin had the markers for Melfort, while Nathan Claydon made 36 saves in the loss.

Finally, in Nipawin, SJHL rookie points leader Carson Park added three more assists as the Hawks downed the Humboldt Broncos 7-3.

Nipawin won its fourth in its last five games, while Humboldt has lost two of three since completing its big trade with Flin Flon.

Mason Lowther and Mason Karakochuk each scored twice for the hosts, while Connor Johnson has won all four starts since joining the Hawks early this season.
