One month into the season and we have had a few exciting things occur.
Five games have produced seven or more goals and that contributes to the 184 goals total to date or $3680 for KidSport! Flin Flon leads the way in the home goals scored with 25, closely followed by Notre Dame with 22 goals and Melfort and Estevan are tied with 21 goals. The KidSport Cup is award to the Saskatchewan team that scores the most home goals.
The Goals for KidSport season opener with the Battlefords North Stars, the reigning KidSport Cup Champions, was where we announced the total proceeds for the 2016-2017 season was $32,619.25. Thanks to contributions from local SaskEnergy Network Member companies, fans of the SJHL, and the Teams, the Goals for KidSport program has raised more than $85,000 for KidSport Chapters across the province.
Volunteer Champions are once again being recognized and Paula Schmidt from the Battlefords North Stars was the first recipient.
