Hounds Climb Back into 8th

The new week in the SJHL kicked off Tuesday night with a trio of games on the schedule which was highlighted by the Notre Dame Hounds earning a 3-2 win at home over the Melfort Mustangs. Highlights from that contest and the game between the Battlefords North Stars and the La Ronge Ice Wolves can be found below.

Nipawin 3 Yorkton 2 (No Highlights due to neutral site game)

The Nipawin Hawks picked up their 3rd straight win Tuesday night with a 3-2 win over the Yorkton Terriers in Wadena. Braxton Buckberger scored a pair and 20-year-old Carson Dobson also found the back of the net for the Hawks in the win. The win moves the Hawks above .500, and now Nipawin is only 6 points back of the Melfort Mustangs for 6th place in the SJHL standings. They will be back at it Wednesday night in Melville. For the Terriers, they are now 0-4-0-1 since the holiday break and they are now 3 points back of the Notre Dame Hounds for the 8th and final playoff spot.

Action resumes Wednesday night in the SJHL with a pair of games on the schedule.
