HOUNDS WIN HOME OPENER

By Mike Stackhouse

Andrew Henderson made 28-saves as the Notre Dame Hounds earned a split in their home and home opening weekend series with Melfort, downing the Mustangs 4-0 on Sunday evening.  Jakob Breault scored twice, Tim Gould added two assists, and the Hounds chased starter Hunter Arps from the net with six minutes to go in the second period. American Jack Walters stopped all 11-shots he faced the rest of the way.  Tanner Tarbell and Jared Hamm also had goals for the Hounds.

Monday is an off day for league with action resuming on Tuesday as Estevan (2-0) plays host to Yorkton (0-1).
