On behalf of the Saskatchewan Jr Hockey League, we acknowledge the unprecedented times that our fans, the players, the staff and the volunteers of our 12 SJHL teams have had to deal with since March 14, 2020.
As we continue to have discussions with the Saskatchewan Government and Saskatchewan Health on the re-start of the 2020-21 season, the health and safety of our players, staff and volunteers is of the outmost importance.
The decisions on the dates of returning to play will probably not be determined until after January 15, 2021.
Some factors that will determine the re-start are the number of cases and the number of people hospitalized due to COVID-19.
From the re-start, the SJHL has plans to continue with regular season games that lead to the playoffs and finish when a Champion is determined.
With all of hockey being delayed in Saskatchewan, the SJHL draft that is scheduled for the first part of June, will be held at a later date which is yet to be determined.
With all the uncertainty, the struggle of the unknown has been difficult for all involved.
The SJHL wants everyone to be Safe and Healthy wishes everyone a Happy New Year, and may all of our hockey wishes come true in 2021.
