MUSTANGS GRAB 3-0 SERIES LEAD

BRONCOS GET SERIES LEAD BACK

The regular season’s leading goal scorer and point getter came up big in the clutch in Game 3 of the post-season, as Justin Ball tied it up in the second and scored the winner in the third, as the Melfort Mustangs beat the Kindersley Klippers 4-3 on the road to grab a 3-0 series edge.

George King and Jake Hobson rounded out the scoring for Melfort, while Tanner Zentner had two assists and Noah Giesbrecht turned away 36 of the 39 shots he faced.

The Klippers led 2-0 6:18 into the game on goals from Austin Nault and Tyler Traptow.  Ty Enns notched his first of the playoffs to give Kindersley a 3-2 lead in the second frame.  Justen Close made 24/28 saves in the loss.

Game 4 goes Tuesday in Kindersley, with the Klippers battling for their season.

The Humboldt Broncos also came from behind, scoring four unanswered goals to beat the visiting Estevan Bruins 6-3, and take a 2-1 series lead in their Best-of-Seven.

Josh Patrician got the Broncos on the board with a first period powerplay goal, while Mitch Zambon, Michael Clarke, Bryson Cecconi, Owen Guenter and Logan Foster all had a goal and an assist.  Rayce Ramsay made 40/43 saves and has a .938% through three playoff games.

Devan Harrison (1g-1a), TJ Irey and Jake Heerspink replied for the Bruins, who look to even things up again on Tuesday night.
