REGINA, SK – Battlefords North Stars defenceman and captain Gavin Granger has committed to the University of Windsor of USports for the 2026-27 Ontario University Athletics campaign.
Granger, 20, posted 44 points in 51 regular-season games this past campaign, while recording an impressive rating of +26 and averaging 23:23 of ice time per night.
He added five points in 12 postseason contests while guiding the youthful North Stars to Round 2 of the playoffs.
The Saskatoon, SK native posted 76 points in 154 career regular season contests, and added seven points in 27 playoff games over his three full campaigns.
Battlefords made the playoffs in all three years of his service.
Granger won the 2023 Saskatchewan U18AAA title with the Saskatoon Blazers, who went on to win the national U18 bronze medal that campaign, as well as the Viking Cup Gold Medal with Team SJHL this past holiday season.
Paired with elite 18-year-old Linken Fisher for much of this past campaign, Granger was part of one of the top tandems in the SJHL this year.
SJHL alum Logan Linklater (Kindersley) led the Windsor Lancers in scoring this past season. He was joined on their roster by fellow Klippers alums Tylin and Ethan Hilbig, as well as ex-Weyburn Red Wing Kirk Mullen, Humboldt Broncos alum Jacob Boucher, and former Estevan Bruin Sal Collora.
