PAIR OF SHUTOUTS ROUND OUT SHOWCASE

FOUR DAY EVENT WRAPS UP IN WARMAN

The four-day SJHL Showcase event wrapped up with a  pair of games on Wednesday, and both ended in 4-0 scores.

In the morning, Kristian Stead stopped all 45 shots he faced as the Nipawin Hawks blanked the Notre Dame Hounds 4-0.

Jake Gerbner had a pair of third period goals, one on the powerplay and one short handed.  Keegan Kjargaard and Brett Harasymuk netted the others.

Payton Porter turned away 28/32 shots in goal for the Hounds.

That contest was followed up by Justen Close making 25 saves for his first shutout and SJHL win as the Kindersley Klippers beat La Ronge 4-0 in the Showcase Finale.

Drayton Thunderchief potted a pair of goals, giving him three on the season, while Brenden Wagner and Cole Young added singles.

Luke Lush was kept busy in goal for the Ice Wolves, turning away 37/41 shots.

League action resumes in SJHL centres with four games on Friday night.
