PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

CANALTA HOTELS SJHL PLAYER OF THE WEEK:  Brandon Lesko, Flin Flon Bombers
1998 F Brandon Lesko (Hafford SK) fired three goals and three assists in two games played last week, both Bomber victories as they solidified their hold on first place in the Sherwood Division.  Lesko had five points, including a hat trick, in Friday night’s 11-0 win over the Ice Wolves.  He had an assist one night later in a 4-3 decision over the Ice Wolves.  In 43 games this season, he has 20-goals and 23-assists.  Runner up:  Josh Bly, Nipawin.

IBAS SJHL DEFENSEMAN OF THE WEEK:  Tyler Baier, Yorkton Terriers
1997 D Tyler Baier (Macklin SK) picked up four assists in three games played this past week as the Terriers moved to within a single point of second place in the Viterra Division.  Baier had two assists Tuesday night against Estevan and again Friday night against Melville and now has 8-goals and 15-assists in 52-games.  Runner up:  Kendall Fransoo, Battlefords.

SASKTEL SJHL GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK:  Benjamin Patt, Notre Dame Hounds
1996 G Benjamin Patt (Brampton ON) won both of his starts this past week, stopping 25-of-26 against Weyburn on Tuesday and then he was back between the pipes one night later and blocked 31-of-33 against Humboldt.  He’s 5-4-and-1 with a 2.56-GAA and .926-SPCT since returning to the club post January 10th.  Runner-up:  Joel Gryzbowski, Battlefords.

SJHL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK:  Hayden Guilderson, Estevan Bruins
1997 F Hayden Guilderson (Chilliwack BC) picked up a goal and an assist in each of his three games played this past week.  That included Tuesday night when the Bruins defeated Yorkton and then again on Friday night when the Bruins beat Weyburn in the first of a home and home.  He had the same stat line Saturday against the Wings in an overtime loss.  For the year, he has 10-goals and 21-assists in 48-games.  Runner up:  Owen Lamb, Battlefords.
