SGEU MVP of the Week: William Leonard, Yorkton Terriers

Yorkton picked up four of a possible six points in their three games in less than three days run this weekend. Leonard’s elite two-way play was a big reason why, highlighted, by a massive four goal, five-point night in Nipawin Friday. Leonard has been red hot in 2026 so far, posting points in all but one contest with six goals and 15 points over that seven game span.

Week Stats: 4 GP – 4 G, 5 A – 9 PTS

Bourgault Forward of the Week: Gabriel Courchesne, Yorkton Terriers

Now the league’s second leading point getter, Courchesne had multi-point outings in each of Yorkton’s three weekend contests, including his first career SJHL hat trick Sunday in La Ronge. The 19-year-old from Drummondville, QC has been remarkably consistent all year, and is a big reason the Terriers are never an easy out for anyone.

Week Stats: 4 GP – 5 G, 3 A – 8 PTS

SuperU Defenceman of the Week: Raydr Wallington, Nipawin Hawks

The Hawks have won three out of four, and amid injury woes, the local boy Wallington has found a role and the confidence to contribute. His four points over his last three games were the first points for him since early December, but if he and the Nipawin D-corps can regularly contribute offensively to an already electric Hawks offence; look out.

Week Stats: 2 GP – 0 G, 3 A – 3 PTS

SaskTel Goalie of the Week: Kason Kobelka, Melfort Mustangs

Kobelka was in net for two huge, much-needed wins for the Mustangs this week (his partner Madden Mulawka also won the other game), and has been a massive, unquantifiable reason for Melfort remaining in striking range of the playoff line. He showed how good he was back in November at the Western All-Star Challenge, and among a crop of elite 2007-born goaltenders in the league, Kobelka is right at or near the top.

Week Stats: 2-0-0-0, 2.00 GAA, .933 SV%, 56 saves

SaskMilk Rookie of the Week: Owen Chapman, Humboldt Broncos

The Broncos moved a bunch of experience out at the trade deadline, but that has to be seen as a positive for the development of the likes of the 17-year-old Chapman, whose ability was on full display this week, especially in Saturday’s important win in Melville. The Portland Winterhawks prospect has a massive fan in his coach Brayden Klimosko, as was evidenced but the trust put in him as a call-up in last year’s playoffs.

Week Stats: 2 GP – 1 G, 2 A – 3 PTS

Canterra Seeds Saskatchewan Player of the Week: Jye Zawatsky, Yorkton Terriers (from Yorkton, Sask)

Jye was terrific at the Viking Cup, and like many who attended, have used the success of the event to springboard themselves into a strong second half. He has played provider more often than not in 2026 so far for Yorkton’s electric top line, and has 12 assists in only five games played in this calendar year to date. His five-point game Sunday vs. La Ronge is a career high.

Week Stats: 4 GP – 1 G, 7 A – 8 PTS
