CANALTA HOTELS SJHL PLAYER OF THE WEEK:  Kyle Bosch, Kindersley Klippers
1999 F Kyle Bosch (Kindersley SK) ripped off 4-goals and 2-assists in a pair of games played this weekend as the Klippers managed to earn three of a possible four points against La Ronge.  Bosch had a hat trick on Friday in helping the Klippers overcome a 3-1 deficit and salvage the game with a 6-5 overtime defeat. Bosch then scored again and set up two more in Saturday’s rematch as the Klippers were 5-0 winners.  Bosh is heating up with 12-points in his last 6-games overall and now has 13-goals and 20-assists in 37-games this season. Runner-up: Zach Bannister, La Ronge.

SJHL DEFENSEMAN OF THE WEEK:  Brendan Mark, Yorkton Terriers
1998 D Brendan Mark (Grand Rapids MN USA) fired three goals and one assist in three games played this past week, including two key goals against Flin Flon on Friday night. One was an end to end rush to open the scoring and the other was a well placed wrister off a drop feed.  Mark also scored a goal on New Year’s Day against Melville and set up one of the two goals the Terriers scored against Weyburn on Saturday. Overall, Mark has points in five of his last six games and 5-goals and 24-assists in 37-games played. Runner-up: Eric Soar, Weyburn.

Runner-up: Ben Laidlaw, Weyburn.

DIRECTWEST SJHL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK:  Daunte Fortner, La Ronge Ice Wolves

He also set up the lone La Ronge goal on New Year’s Day at Flin Flon.  For the season, Fortner has 3-goals and 5-assists in 15-games since joining the team from Humboldt, where he had 2-goals and 6-assists in 14-games.
