PLAYERS OF THE WEEK (Nov 17)

RBC PLAYER OF THE WEEK:  Logan Kurki, Humboldt Broncos
2001 F Logan Kurki (Maple Ridge BC) is off to a red hot start with multiple point games in each of his first four contests.  Kurki scored twice at Yorkton in the season opener November 6th and then added a goal and an assist one night later in the Broncos home opener.  He set up two goals on Friday versus Estevan and then picked up a goal and two assists Saturday in Estevan.  Runner-up:  Reece Newkirk, Melville.

MAYFAIR DIAGNOSTICS DEFENSEMAN OF THE WEEK:  Doug Scott, Humboldt Broncos
2000 D Doug Scott (North Vancouver BC) begins the season with points in three of his first four games, including a splendid 1-goal, 3-assist effort this past Saturday in an overtime win at Estevan.  Scott began the regular season with two assists at Yorkton and then followed it up with a goal over the Terriers on November 7th, one night later.  Runner-up:  Devan Harrison, Estevan.

SASKTEL GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK:  Joel Favreau, Melfort Mustangs
2002 G Joel Favreau (Melfort SK) split his team’s first four games by appearing in two and winning one however he was tough to beat in each start.  He made 31-saves on 32-shots in a win over Flin Flon in the first game of the year on November 6th and then he made 20-stops on 22-shots on Friday in Nipawin.  Runner-up:  Ross Hawryluk, Nipawin.

DIRECTWEST ROOKIE OF THE WEEK:  Chase Bertholet, Melville Millionaires
2003 F Chase Bertholet (The Pas MB) got his junior career off to a solid start by posting three assists in his first four games.  Bertholet setup two goals in a 6-3 win at Estevan on November 7th and then got another helper at Weyburn six days later.  Runner-up:  Narek Aleksanyan, La Ronge.
