SGEU MVP of the Week: Kian Bell, Battlefords North Stars

Kian Bell continued his point producing ways this past week as last year’s MVP and Player of the Year played his first two games back in front of the home fans at the Access Communications Centre in North Battleford. In a pair of victories over the Yorkton Terriers, Bell found the back of the net three times and added five assists. In just five games played this season, Bell is already 12th in league scoring with 8 goals and 10 assists.

Bourgault Forward of the Week: Keenan Ingram, Kindersley Klippers

The Kindersley Klippers got back to their winning ways this week, earning a pair of victories at the West Central Events Centre. Leading the charge for the Klippers was Keenan Ingram. In the Klippers win over Nipawin on Halloween, Ingram potted a pair and added an assist in the 5-3 win. He then followed it up on Saturday with a goal and two assists in a wild 7-6 victory against Yorkton. The 19-year-old Calgary, Alberta product is up to 6 goals and 10 assists on the season. He is tied for 16th in league scoring.

SuperU Defenceman of the Week: Felix Allard, Estevan Bruins

It was a big week for the Estevan Bruins as they swept their three game in four night road trip up North. Leading the way for the Bruins was 20-year-old defenceman Felix Allard who not only played big minutes for his club, but also racked up the points. In three games played this week, Allard found the back of the net twice and set up his teammates three times, helping the Bruins win three straight and climb above the .500 mark.

DirectWest Rookie of the Week: Ben Costantino, Humboldt Broncos

The Humboldt Broncos continue to have a great start to the season and continue to be the lone team in the SJHL that has yet to lose in regulation. The team is getting contributions from different players every week and this past weekend was a big one for rookie defenceman Ben Costantino. In the first half of their home and home with Nipawin, the 18-year-old found the back of the net twice and had two assists in a 6-3 win. He would then add a pair of assists Saturday in the re-match. Costantino now has 5 goals and 8 assists in 13 games.

Sasktel Goalie of the Week: Cam Hrdlicka, Estevan Bruins

The Estevan Bruins welcomed Cam Hrdlicka back to the line-up this weekend and the 20-year-old out of Calgary looked like he didn’t miss a beat. In two games this weekend against La Ronge, Hrdlicka only allowed four goals and made a combined 63 saves. Hrdlicka owns a 5-3-0-1 record this season with a 3.09 GAA and a .909 SV%.

Saskatchewan Player of the Week: Riley Girod, Battlefords North Stars (From Saskatoon, Sask)

The Battlefords North Stars are riding a four game winning streak and while the return of Kian Bell has captured many of the headlines, the Stars are seeing several players step up, and this includes Riley Girod from Saskatoon. The 20-year-old found the back of the net twice in a big win over Yorkton Thursday and added an assist. He would then tally a pair of assists in the re-match on Friday. Girod has 6 goals and 7 assists on the year in 13 games played.
