Weyburn Red Wings defenceman Colin Doherty has committed to the State University of New York at Geneseo for next year.
Doherty, 20, hails from Chicago, IL, and joined the Wings from Amarillo in the North American Hockey League at the Jan. 10 trade deadline this year.
The 6-foot-1, 200-pound blue liner has three goals and eight points in 22 games for Weyburn this campaign.
Geneseo competes in the SUNYAC Conference of NCAA Division III for men’s hockey.
