Weyburn Red Wings’ forward Jerome Maharaj has committed to Toronto Metropolitan University of USports for the 2024-25 Ontario University Athletics campaign.

Maharaj, 21, posted 136 points in 123 regular and post-season games over the last two Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League campaigns. He also represented the league at the previous two SJHL/MJHL Showcases and has been a significant force for Weyburn since he landed in Saskatchewan.

A native of North Delta, BC, he emerged from his hometown Delta Prep to play his whole rookie campaign as a Sherwood Park Crusaders of the Alberta Junior Hockey League member before he joined the Wings early in the 2023-24 season.

Maharaj and former Notre Dame Hounds forward Marko Djordjevic are SJHLers to commit to TMU this season.

Congratulations Jerome!
