Arik Weersink stopped all 31 shots he faced for his first SJHL shutout, and the Weyburn Red Wings handed the Battlefords North Stars just their second regulation loss of the season, 1-0 Saturday night in North Battleford.
Taryn Kotchorek returned from injury, making his first start in goal for the North Stars (12-2-1-0) since October 3rd, and made 19/20 saves but didn’t get any support.
Connor Gabruch scored the game’s only goal in the third period for the Red Wings (13-6-2-0).

The La Ronge Ice Wolves battled back with a pair of third period goals and the Estevan Bruins needed a shootout to get by the Ice Wolves 5-4 (SO).
Kaelan Holt scored twice for the Bruins (14-6-1-0) while Zach Goberis notched his 21st of the year and added the shootout winner. Michael McChesney also scored and Maxim Sidelnik made 29/33 saves.
Nolan Dawson (1g-1a), Matthew Perkins, Dawson Boehm and Navarro Lane scored and Merek Pipes made 30/34 saves for the Ice Wolves (4-12-0-2).

Defenseman Cole Thompson (1g-1a) finished off a two point night, scoring his first SJHL goal on a powerplay in overtime as the Melville Millionaires beat the Sherwood Division-leading Melfort Mustangs 5-4 (OT).
Peter Michailides (1g-1a), Cory Schillo, Aidan Steinke and Montana Streit also scored, and Colby Entz made 41/45 saves for Melville (7-13-0-2).
Replying for the Mustangs (14-4-3-1) were Justin Ball (1g-1a), Kayle Tosh, Carson Albrecht and Nolan Kadachuk.

Four third period goals propelled the Humboldt Broncos to their second win over Yorkton in as nights, this time 5-2 on the road.
Brayden Camrud led the charge with two goals and an assist. Derek Patter (1g-1a), Logan Schatz and Layne Matechuk rounded out the scoring for the Broncos (14-6-1-1). Jacob Wassermann made 32/34 saves.
Cole Keenleyside and Shane Sherban gave the Terriers a 2-0 lead in the first period. Yorkton (3-16-2-0) has now dropped seven straight.
