The Melfort Mustangs have points in nine straight games (7-0-2) after their 7-4 Saturday night victory in Humboldt.

After the Broncos took a 2-0 lead in the first period, the Mustangs answered with four in the second period, and Marco Lopez scored four goals on the night.  Kenzie Arnold had a goal and two assists, while Zack Smith (1g-1a) and Nolan Kadachuk finished off the scoring.

Shawn Parkinson made 25/29 saves for the Mustangs (7-2-2-0).

Logan Foster (1g-1a), Kade Olsen, Justin Jamer and Jackson Bohan replied for the Broncos (5-3-0-1), who saw a five game winning streak come to an end.

Chantz Petruic scored three goals, and Alec Zawatsky had the primary assist on all three, as the Yorkton Terriers (3-6-0-0) defeated the Melville Millionaires 5-2.

Brett LeGrandeur (1g-1a) and Carson Henry had the others, and Philippe Bond made 39/41 saves.

Hunter Adams made 40 saves for the Millionaires (3-4-2-1) while Luke Nkwama and Booker Chacalias did their scoring.

Keenan Rancier stopped all 28 shots he faced for his first shutout in the SJHL as the Estevan Bruins handed the Nipawin Hawks their third straight loss, 3-0 on Saturday.

After a scoreless first period, Jayden Davis opened the scoring late in the second frame on the powerplay.  Isaiah Thomas (1g-1a) added some insurance in the third, before Davis notched his second of the night, into an empty net, as the Bruins improved to 2-4-1-1.

Ethan Slobodzian turned aside 32 of 34 shots in goal for the Hawks (6-3-0-0), who look to salvage their three game weekend swing Sunday afternoon in Notre Dame.

Battlefords North Stars defenseman, and captain Matthew Fletcher scored two goals and assisted on two more, as the Stars capped a four game trip with a 4-1 win in Weyburn.

The Stars (10-1-0-0) became the league’s first team to hit double digits in wins (many teams aren’t even at double digits in games played).  The defending champs lost in Yorkton to start their trip, before wins in Melville, Estevan and Weyburn.

Matthias Urbanski added two goals and an assist in Saturday’s win, while Adam Dmyterko made 23/24 saves.

Captain Ben Hiltz replied for the Red Wings (4-6-0-0), and Noah Decottignies stopped 28/31 shots.

The Flin Flon Bombers won their third straight game, 4-2 over the Kindersley Klippers.

Donavan Houle-Villeneuve notched his 10th goal of the season for the Bombers (7-2-0-0), while Matt Flodell, Mason Martin and Jaxon White also found the net.  Matt Sanker made his first SJHL start, making 48 saves on 50 Kindersley shots.

Austin Nault provided both goals for the Klippers (3-5-1-0), and Zach Johnson made 43/46 saves in the loss.
