The Yorkton Terriers dropped Game 1 of their Quarter-Final series in Melfort, and won the next three, and Game 7 on Tuesday looked a lot like the rest of the series, as the Terriers gave up the first goal, and scored the next three in a 3-1 victory on the road.

Curtis Hammond scored just 1:47 into Game 7 for Melfort, and that 1-0 lead held up until there was just over two minutes left in the second period when Erik Boers tied it for the Terriers on the powerplay.  Boers scored again with 4:23 left and that stood up as the winner, as Kishaun Gervais added his team-leading fifth goal and seventh point of the playoffs.

It was a true goaltender’s duel as Kael DePape made 32/33 saves for the Terriers and Joel Favreau was sensational at the other end as well, stopping 32/34.

The Terriers advance to take on the top seeded Estevan Bruins in Round 2, and that means the Flin Flon Bombers will travel to face the Humboldt Broncos in the other SJHL Semi-Final.  Both series will get underway this coming weekend.
