Three Saskatchewan Junior Hockey Leaguers were named as the NHLÂ Central Scouting Bureau today released its mid-season draft rankings ahead of the 2022 draft Wednesday.
Humboldt Broncos’ forwards Matthew Perkins (117th) and Connor McGrath (128th), and Notre Dame Hounds’ forward Kevin Anderson (119th) were named as potential fourth-round North American-based skaters, with the full list of potential draftees available on the NHL website here.
Perkins, a 2004-born winger out of Balgonie, SK, has 42 points in 37 games, while McGrath, a 2003-born centreman from LeRoy, SK, is committed to Ferris State University in NCAA Division I. At the time of writing, McGrath leads the SJHL in assists (36) and points (55).
Anderson, a 2003-born centreman from Regina, SK, is the youngest captain in the SJHL, and sits third in league scoring with 47 points through 34 contests. He committed to NCAA Division I Princeton University on New Year’s Eve 2021.
