The new week in the SJHL began Tuesday night with a trio of games on the schedule, with two of them being in neutral locations.

The evening was highlighted by a pair of overtime games which saw both Melville and Kindersley earn comeback wins.

Humboldt 5 Melville 6 OT

Estevan 4 Kindersley 5 OT (in Rosetown)

The fans in the “Banner Barn” in Rosetown were in for a treat Tuesday night as they saw a back-and-forth game between the Klippers and Bruins. Kindersley came back 1-0, 3-1, 4-3 deficits, which included the game-tying goal with 32 seconds left to force overtime and then win it in overtime thanks to Easton Inglis’ 8th goal of the season. Brock Evans also had a hat-trick in the victory. The win moves Kindersley to 15-17-2-2 on the season. Estevan gains a single point and will look to bounce back Wednesday against the Battlefords North Stars.

Weyburn 5 Notre Dame 3 (in Assiniboia)

Third-period woes continue for the Notre Dame Hounds as they dropped a 5-3 decision to the Weyburn Red Wings in Assiniboia. The game was tied at 3 entering the third, but it was Braigh LeGrandeur scoring just past the midway point of the final stanza which vaulted the Wings to their 14th win of the season and snapped a four-game losing streak. Jaxson Ruthven also had a pair of goals in the win for Weyburn who are right in the thick of things when it comes to a race for a playoff spot. They are home to Kindersley for a pair this weekend. The Hounds will be on the road in Melville on Saturday.

Play resumes tonight with a pair of games on the docket. The Estevan Bruins will head to the Battlefords for a meeting with the North Stars and the Flin Flon Bombers will return to the ice as they host the Nipawin Hawks. Both games are set for 7:30 p.m.
