TUESDAY RECAP: Schraeder brothers lead Wings past Terriers

WEYBURN, SK – Luke Schraeder scored a highlight reel goal in overtime after his younger brother Dion tied the contest with just over two minutes remaining in the second period as the Weyburn Red Wings edged the Yorkton Terriers 3-2 Tuesday.

Nate Stevens stopped 36 shots for his fifth win in six career SJHL contests, while Callum Creig made 27 saves in defeat.

The elder Schraeder also scored the other Weyburn tally at the 16-minute mark of the opening frame.

Aidan Vallance’s goal and an assist led the way offensively for Yorkton.

Elsewhere in La Ronge, Tiernan Ryan’s first-period marker held up as the winner, and Colten Scott made 38 stops to help the Nipawin Hawks down the Ice Wolves 3-2.

Nipawin captain Finlay Radloff was the game’s high scorer with a pair of helpers on the night.
