Streaks Continue For Hawks, Stars, Hounds

The Notre Dame Hounds are without a regulation loss in their last 8 games, and picked up a 5-1 win over the Weyburn Red Wings Tuesday night in Wilcox.

Jared Hamm, Chance Longjohn and Zack Kosteniuk each had a goal and an assist for the Hounds (), while Riley Perka and Curtis Wiebe also added goals and Jacob Standen made 21/22 saves.

Jordan Kazymyra scored the lone goal for the Red Wings (15-8-2-0), his third goal in as many games, and his 8th goal in 10 games in the month of November.

Jake Anthony made 20/21 saves and the Nipawin Hawks won their third in a row, 2-1 over the Estevan Bruins.

Jake Fletcher opened the scoring for the Bruins (15-8-2-0) 7:02 into the game.  Logan Casavant tied it just over two minutes later, and a Keillan Olson (1g-1a) goal early in the second period was the last bit of offense in the game, as the Hawks improve to 14-5-1-2 on the season.

Matt Lukacs made 44/46 saves in goal for the Bruins, who continue north to La Ronge on Wednesday.

The Battlefords North Stars are starting to make up some of their games in hand, and they’re doing it with wins.

The Stars won their fourth straight game Tuesday, and those four wins have come in the last five days, most recently a 4-3 shootout decision over the Kindersley Klippers.

Shots were 44-19 for the Stars (16-3-1-0), as Layne Young (1g-1a), Levi Kleiboer (1g-1a) and Blake Fennig did the scoring.  Young, MacGregor Sinclair and Chasteon Braid helped the Stars go 3/3 in the shootout.  Taryn Kotchorek made 16/19 saves.

For the Klippers (10-7-2-2), Tanner Thompson and Eddie May had them up 2-0 early in the second period.  Cody Hodgson added a late third period goal to force extra time.  Justen Close made 41/44 saves.
