TWO GAMES THURSDAY

A four games in five nights road trip for the Sherwood Division leading Flin Flon Bombers started out with dates with the other two division leaders on back to back nights, and after a 5-3 loss in Humboldt on Wednesday, the Bombers dropped a 6-4 decision Thursday in Estevan to the Viterra-leading Bruins.

Leading the charge offensively for the Bruins (8-2-0-1) was Jake Fletcher with a goal and two assists.  Johnny Witzke (1g-1a), Josh Rieger (1g-1a), Michael McChesney (1g-1a), Zach Sherburne and Lynnden Pastachak also scored Nathan Alalouf made 40 saves on 44 shots.

For the Bombers (6-4-1-1), Dondre Watson scored his first goal in October, but his 10th of the season.  Greyson Reitmeier (1g-1a), Brandon Lesko and Jason Lavallee had the others.  Flin Flon is now winless in four (0-3-1), and take Thursday off before playing the second half of their trip in Weyburn Saturday and Notre Dame Sunday.

17-year-old Adam Dawe scored a pair of goals, once in the first minute of play and again in the dying second as the Notre Dame Hounds doubled up the visiting Battlefords North Stars 4-2.

That was Dawe’s second career multi-goal game, and already his fifth multi-point game in his young career (11 games).  Kobe Kindrachuk and Ben Duperreault also found the net, and Jordan Greenfield-Flemon is still without a regulation loss, improving to 2-0-1 (1.95, .935%), making 36/38 saves Thursday.

Connor McIntosh and Layne Young did the scoring for Battlefords.
