TWO PLAYERS HIT NHL CENTRAL SCOUTING WATCH LIST

By Mike Stackhouse

The NHL Central Scouting Players To Watch List was released on Monday and two Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League players have been identified.

2000 F Vincent Nardone (Rosemere PQ) of the Flin Flon Bombers and 2000 D Chase Felgueiras (Calgary AB) of the Humboldt Broncos are among 16 CJHL players who are listed.

Nardone was an offseason recruit of Bomber head coach Mike Reagan and is off to a good start with 5 goals in his first 8 games. “One school last week said to me, ‘he catches your eye on every shift’. He’s creative and plays with a lot of pace and energy. He hounds pucks and doesn’t mind going to the tough areas.”

Reagan also says of Nardone, “You don’t see these things very often in an 18-year-old and he has a late birthday so he’s almost a 2001 born player. He’s provided our team with an additional threat that makes us very hard to defend against. He’s a great kid with a personality that matches the way he plays.”

Meanwhile, Felgueiras has a goal and four assists in eight games with the Broncos in what is his second Junior ‘A’ season despite this being his first year of being junior age. Felgueiras has good size and skill and moves the puck quickly and has an excellent stride heading up ice.

“Chase is a big, rangy dman who skates very well and likes to jump into the rush. He has a lot of raw potential to be an offensive defenseman. Every game he has been getting better for us and we hope that continues,” says Broncos assistant coach Scott Barney.
