REGINA, SK – And then there were two.
The Flin Flon Bombers and the Yorkton Terriers have punched their respective tickets to the 2026 Canterra Seeds Cup Final with dramatic Game 7 wins Wednesday night.
Gavin Bartha scored the winner on a seeing-eye point shot off a Ryder McDonald face-off win with under four minutes remaining in regulation, and the Terriers held off a furious Battlefords North Stars rally with a 6-3 victory in front of 2,177 at the Westland Arena.
Yorkton went up 3-0 after the 1:10 mark of the second period before the North Stars scored three straight to set up a dramatic, tense third period.
Local forward Vinay Junek also notched a pair for the Terriers, while Alexander Coventry scored twice for Battlefords.
The Yorkton Terriers return to the league final for the first time since 2014, when they not only defeated Melville for the championship but also went on to win the RBC Cup Junior A National title.
Meanwhile in Flin Flon, local forward Wyatt Stinton chipped the only goal of the game home on a Reid Arberry feed at 18:18 of the opening period, and the Bombers earned their fourth finals spot in the last five seasons with a 1-0 win over the Weyburn Red Wings.
Charlie Tritt stopped all 26 shots he faced for his second shutout of the post-season, while Joey Rocha replied with an equally sharp 25 saves in defeat.
It was the first time since 2005 that both semifinal rounds ended after seven games.
