REGINA, SK – The Nipawin Hawks trailed twice but were lifted by a pair from Jack Janzen to rally past the Kindersley Klippers 4-3 on Wednesday.
Janzen’s second of the night came with 1:01 remaining in regulation and proved the winner after Sean Shiels had tied the contest at 8:24 of the final frame.
It was the first multi-goal game of Janzen’s SJHL career.
Mattias Radke shone for Kindersley while making 30 stops in defeat.
Elsewhere, the Melfort Mustangs snapped their five-game skid with a 4-1 victory over the La Ronge Ice Wolves.
Dru Mushumanski’s first of the year at 1:13 of the middle frame held up as the game-winning goal for the Mustangs.
Waylon Gardipy opened the scoring for La Ronge before Melfort’s run of four in a row.
