The Battlefords North Stars were less than 20 seconds away from getting a tight road win against their biggest rivals, but Kindersley’s Tyler Traptow tied things up with 17 seconds remaining, and the Klippers won 3-2 in the shootout.

Josh Fletcher also scored for the Klippers (11-3-1-0), who now sit first overall in the league.  Justen Close made 21/23 saves and was perfect on three shootout attempts.

Adam Dmyterko was busy at the other end, stopping 46/48 shots in goal for the North Stars (8-4-0-2).  Ryan Gil (11 seconds into the game) and Cody Spagrud did the scoring.

Kolby Johnson scored in overtime and the La Ronge Ice Wolves picked up a 4-3 (OT) win over the visiting Weyburn Red Wings on Wednesday night.

The Ice Wolves (5-11-0-0) snapped a five game losing streak with the victory, and in the process made the Red Wings now winless in their last eight (0-6-2-0).

Mitch Zambon (1g-1a), Jordan Mish and Jake Gudjonson also scored for La Ronge, and Jordan Frey picked up the win in goal.

Weyburn led 3-1 going into the third period, thanks to three second period goals from Connor Pyne (1g-1a), Dylan McCabe and Ben Hiltz.

The Flin Flon Bombers doubled up the visiting Estevan Bruins 4-2.

Vincent Nardone had a goal and an assist, while Brandson Hein added his SJHL-best 18th goal and 31st point.  Chrystopher Collin and Caleb Franklin also scored and Jacob Delorme stopped 39/41 shots for the Sherwood-leading Bombers (10-5-0-2).

Austin King-Cunningham and Michael McChesney did the scoring for the Bruins (7-9-0-0), who look to salvage their road trip as they continue on to La Ronge Friday and Melfort on Saturday.
