HOUNDS, WINGS EXTEND WINNING STREAKS

Wednesday Wrap Up

Make it wins eight in a row for the Weyburn Red Wings, who picked up an 8-2 win in La Ronge on Wednesday night.

Erik Olson (2g-1a) and Ben Hiltz (1g-2a) each had three point nights while Shae Kiryk scored twice.  Cole Woodliffe (1g-1a), Garrett Szeremley (1g-1a) and Cade Kowalski (1g-1a) also hit the net and Arik Weersink made 36/38 saves.

The Red Wings (10-2-1-0) moved into a tie with Estevan for the Viterra Division lead.  They’re halfway through a four games in five nights road trip, which sees them in Flin Flon Friday and Nipawin Saturday.

Drayton Thunderchief and Tanner Brewster did the scoring for the Ice Wolves (2-11-0-1).

The Notre Dame Hounds made it six wins in a row, while taking over sole possession of the Olympic Buildings Division lead, as they got by the visiting Estevan Bruins 4-1.

Jacob Standen made 27/28 saves in goal for the Hounds (9-3-1-1).  Zack Kosteniuk (1g-1a), Alexandre Desgagnes, Chaz Smedsrud and Connor Mylymok picked up the goals.

Tanner McKechnie replied for the Bruins (10-5-1-0).
