Weyburn Red Wings forward Jaxson Ruthven has committed to the University of British Columbia of USports for the 2025-26 CanadaWest campaign.
Ruthven, 21, posted career highs in goals and points to help the Red Wings reach the 2024-25 Canterra Seeds Cup final.
A native of Vancouver, he joins his hometown club off a junior career of 113 points in 124 Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League games. He also spent time in the Alberta Junior Hockey League and the British Columbia Hockey League before spending his last two campaigns in Junior A with the Wings.
Ruthven becomes the 26th SJHLer from the 2024-25 campaign to commit to a USports school.
