Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League

2026 Western All-Star Challenge

The Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) and the Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL) are joining forces to present the third annual Western All-Star Challenge.

The Western All-Star Challenge, set to take place Nov. 3–4, 2026, will pit the SJHL Under-19 and MJHL Under-19 All-Stars against each other in two games at Martensville Recreation Centre in Martensville, Sask.

Eligible players will be born in 2008 or later.

Last season, the SJHL and MJHL saw some of their highest numbers of players successfully transition to post- secondary hockey opportunities. It is our hope that, as the two prairie leagues involved with the Western Canadian Development Model, we are providing dynamic and creative opportunities that will assist both of our leagues’ players in making successful transitions to post-secondary hockey, including at the U SPORTS, ACAC, and NCAA levels, and more successful transitions from hockey to the world of work and life.

Our partnership with the MJHL in this and other ventures stems from the ongoing, fruitful spirit of cooperation between our two leagues, our shared desire to showcase our players to the best of our abilities, and our desire to provide creative entertainment for fans new and old.

We are also thrilled to continue highlighting Palliser Insurance as the event’s primary sponsor, and we are grateful for their involvement this year and in the past.
