Hounds Earn Big Two Points Monday Night

The Notre Dame Hounds still have their eyes on making the 2023 SJHL playoffs and Monday night at home they picked up a crucial two points with a 2-1 win over the La Ronge Ice Wolves.

The teams skated forty minutes with neither team finding the back of the net, but it didn’t take long in the 3rd for the ice to be broken.

Just 57 seconds into the final stanza, Samuel Borschowa netted his 2nd of the campaign to get the Hounds on the board.

Fast forward to the midway point of the frame and Jaryd Sych would double the Hounds lead on a 2 on 1 with his 11th of the season which turned out to be the game winner.

Tucker Inabinet was solid in between the pipes for the Hounds in the win, stopping 26 of 27 shots.

The win improves Notre Dame’s record to 15-20-3-2 and they are now 6 points back of the 8th and final playoff spot with two games in hand.

Meanwhile, for the Ice Wolves, they drop to 27-16-3-2 with the loss. They will look to snap their 3 game losing streak Tuesday night when they visit the Melville Millionaires.
