BRONCOS GET CLOSER TO THE PACK

By Craig Stein

HOME WIN OVER LA RONGE WEDNESDAY

The Humboldt Broncos pulled to within one point of three different teams tied for fourth place on Wednesday, beating the visiting La Ronge Ice Wolves 5-2.

The Broncos (26-16-2-1) remain in seventh place in the overall standings, but the win has them one point shy of Flin Flon, Battlefords and Melfort.  One of that group, or Kindersley, would have to slip out of the top six for the Broncos to avoid the Wild Card series.

Michael Clarke and Logan Foster each had a goal and an assist in Wednesday’s only SJHL matchup.  Josh Patrician, Reid Arnold and Cole Kirkup rounded it out and Rayce Ramsay stopped 28/30 shots.

Jordan Frey made 45/50 saves for the Ice Wolves (10-32-1-1) while Antonio Di Paolo and Jake Gudjonson did the scoring.
