Three-year veteran defenseman, Nicksha Eric has announced his commitment to continue his hockey career and pursue his post secondary education.

Eric has committed to Trinity Western University for the 2022/23 season and will join the Spartans who have a litany of former SJHL’ers in the roster, including former Humboldt Broncos, Luke Spadafora and Jarrett Penner.

Eric, a Calgary, AB native, joined the Broncos for the 2019/20 SJHL season, picking up 10 points (5g-5a) in 42 games throughout his rookie season, while instilling himself as a premier two-way defender.

“Trinity Western is getting one of the top D-men in the SJHL, said Head Coach and GM, Scott Barney. His ability to skate, gap, react, and read the game is at an elite level. Nic has put in a lot of work and it’s great to see him rewarded with this commitment, vey well deserved.”

His skating ability is on display every time he steps on the ice, leading the now 20-year-old veteran to a career high in points in his final year with three goals and 17 assists in 46 games this season.

Eric marks the 6th post-secondary commitment for the Broncos this year.

Trinity Western University is located in Langley, BC and competes in the Canada West Division of U Sports.
