Matthew Perkins had a goal and two assists against his former team as the La Ronge Ice Wolves won a wild finish, 5-4 decision over the Yorkton Terriers on Friday night.

Connor Smith and defenseman Antonio Di Paolo matched Perkins’ goal and three points, while Drayton Thunderchief and Trey Doell added the others.

The Ice Wolves (3-12-0-1) held a 4-2 lead late in the third before the Terriers (3-13-2-0) scored two quick ones, tying things up with 45 seconds remaining, but just 17 seconds later, Thunderchief potted the winner for La Ronge.

Slater Strong added a goal and two assists for Yorkton. Captain Dexter Robinson scored twice and Cody Bruchkowski chipped in a goal and an assist.

The two teams square off again Saturday at 2:00

The Humboldt Broncos went into Melville for the second time in two weeks, and picked up a 3-1 win over the Millionaires.

Logan Schatz and Brayden Camrud (1g-1a) scored first period goals before newcomer Jaxon Joseph added some insurance in the third in his first game since being acquired from Melfort.  Jacob Wassermann made 13/14 saves as the Broncos (11-6-1-1) again jumped back into first place in the Olympic Buildings Division.

Tucker Chapman scored and Colby Entz made 27/30 saves for the Millionaires (5-11-0-2), who are home again Saturday against Weyburn.

It was the Nipawin Hawks who this past Saturday night, ended the Weyburn Red Wings’ hope of a 10-0 month of October, beating the Wings at the Cage, and on Friday, they went into Weyburn and picked up two more points with a 4-2 victory.

Declan Hobbs made 22/24 saves for the win while Chad McCartney (1g-1a), Austin Mikesch (1g-1a), Logan Casavant and Gage Misskey did the scoring for the Hawks (11-3-1-1).

Dawson Atamanchuk and Ben Hiltz scored third period goals for the Wings (11-4-2-0).
