Hounds’ Metastasio commits to Trinity Western (USports)

REGINA, SK – Notre Dame Hounds forward Damian Metastasio has committed to Trinity Western University of CanadaWest for the 2025-26 USports campaign.

Metastasio, 21, posted 10 goals and 21 points in 41 games for the Hounds in the club’s final season a year ago.

“I am super thrilled to give everything I’ve got into the Spartan family,” Metastasio said.

“We have a great group of guys and a great group of staff who all want to be there. Thanks to (Notre Dame, now Warman Wolverines head coach/GM) Brett Pilkington and the whole staff for building me into the player I want to become, as they’ve taught me what it takes to succeed at the next level.”

The SJHL Hounds acquired him from the Grand Falls Rapids of the Maritime Hockey League in October of 2024.

A native of Vaughan, ON, he also spent time with Yarmouth and Miramichi of the MHL, in the BCHL, and in the BC-based Junior ‘B’ PIJHL over his three-year junior career.

“Damian is a stand-up man, with a lot of leadership on and off the ice,” Pilkington said.

“He came to work every day to get better and learn, and will continue to do so in life and hockey.”

Metastasio becomes the 27th SJHLer from the 2024-25 season to commit to a USports programme.
