REGINA, SK – Luke McKechnie stopped all 26 shots he faced and Tyson Janzen notched the first two-goal game of his career as the Melfort Mustangs blanked the Battlefords North Stars 4-0 Wednesday.
Lincoln Rogers was the game-high scorer with a goal and two helpers on the night for a Mustangs club that moved within one point of idle Warman for first place.
Matthew Bertolin had the other Melfort goal.
The shutout is the second of McKechnie’s campaign, and the 2007-born netminder has now given up a mere five goals in the last five games with a .957 save percentage over that span.
