Melfort Mustangs defenceman Nicholas Andrusiak has committed to the University of Saskatchewan of USports for the 2025-26 Canada West campaign.

Andrusiak, 20, scored 42 points in 59 games this past season, including the regular season, playoffs, and the Mustangs’ run to the Centennial Cup championship game.

“Nic was an important acquisition this past summer to our organization”, says Head Coach Trevor Blevins. “He was an integral part of our Championship season. His leadership and commitment this year were outstanding.”

A native of Tisdale, SK, Andrusiak played in 129 SJHL contests split between the Melville Millionaires and Melfort.

He also featured in 125 Western Hockey League games between Portland, Red Deer, and Saskatoon.

He joins teammate Zac Somers in committing to the Huskies this week.
