Nipawin Hawks 25/26 Season Preview

It is not too often that expectations for a team that finished second-to-last one year are as high the next as for the 2025-26 Nipawin Hawks.

The franchise, led by Tad Kozun, has asked the community to be patient and build with an ultra-young, yet ultra-talented and committed corps. The belief around Nipawin is that this upcoming season will be the one to finally bear fruit.

Nipawin plans to return all but three men from last year’s squad, two of which being their two 20-year-olds, so it should not take time for this group, especially up front and in net, to hit the ground running.

Let’s take a look at some key numbers from the last regular season for the Hawks:

Captain and local Finley Radloff is back, as is second-half breakout star Ashton Tait, on top of all five you see in their top scorers group, and No. 1 goaltender Gage Roberts, among others; so Coach Kozun’s standards will be high.

SJHL Co-Director of Media Jamie Neugebauer sat down with Head Coach and General Manager Tad Kozun in the SCSA Coaches’ Show ahead of the 25/26 season and got his thoughts on the upcoming year.
