Freigang, 20, returns to his native state with the commitment, as he hails from Ogden, UT.
A 6-foot-2, 194-pound forward, D.J. posted 24 points in 80 Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League contests with ND.
He attended Notre Dame High School from Grade 10 to graduation, spending two whole seasons with the junior hounds.
The Utah State Aggies play in the Mountain West Collegiate Hockey League, part of ACHA Div II. They are located in Logan, UT, an hour north of Ogden.
