After getting out to a three goal lead at the end of the 2nd period, the Notre Dame Hounds hung on in the 3rd period to win 5-4 over the Estevan Bruins. Cole Wirun has made an immediate impact for the Hounds since being acquired from the Canmore Eagles, he found the back of the net twice for the Hounds in front of a jam packed rink in Carlyle. Notre Dame will now look to make it 3 wins in a row Sunday afternoon when they host the Nipawin Hawks. The Hawks will be in Estevan Saturday to take on the Bruins who have now lost back to back games.
It will be another busy night in the SJHL Saturday with another five games on the docket.
