PLAYERS OF THE MONTH (December)

RBC SJHL PLAYER OF THE MONTH:  Rylee Zimmer, Flin Flon Bombers
1997 F Rylee Zimmer (Russell MB) led all players in the month of December with 7-goals and 11-assists in 10-games played.  Among his highlights were a four-point game on December 30th against La Ronge as well as three straight three-point games to kick off the month.  Zimmer enters this weekend with 13-goals and 30-assists in 37-games played.  Runner-up:  Coby Downs, Battlefords North Stars.

IBAS SJHL DEFENSEMAN OF THE MONTH:  LJ Naccarato, Yorkton Terriers
1997 D RJ Naccarato (Sturgeon County AB) came into his own during the month of December as the Terriers dealt with some injuries and absences from their line-up and it was Naccarato who stepped up to fill the void.  Naccarato scored 2-goals and 7-assists in 8-games during the month of December, which included a three-point effort on December 11th against Humboldt.  For the season, he has 2-goals and 13-assists in 37-games.  Runner-up:  Andrew McCann, Kindersley Klippers.

SASKTEL SJHL GOALTENDER OF THE MONTH:  Tayrn Kotchorek, Battlefords North Stars
1997 G Taryn Kotchorek (North Battleford SK) won all four of his starts, stopping 117 of 122 shots overall, including a 25-save shutout against Kindersley on December 10th.  He allowed one goal on 35-shots in his last game of the year against Melville to finish 4-and-0, 1.20, .959.  For the year, he’s 16-and-2 with a 1.85-GAA and .926-SPCT.  He has three shutouts.  Runner-up:  Kristian Stead, Nipawin Hawks.

SJHL ROOKIE OF THE MONTH:  Damian Bentz, Melville Millionaires
1998 F Damian Bentz (Punnichy SK) ended the month of December with a flurry, getting two Rookie Of The Week selections and riding that wave to the monthly honors as well.  Bentz had a four-point game against Weyburn before Christmas and finished with 4-goals and 6-assists in 8-games and has season totals of 9-goals and 11-assists in 25-games.  Runner-up:  Tucker Scantlebury, Melville.
