FOR THE WEEK ENDING SEPT.25, 2016

CANALTA HOTELS SJHL PLAYER OF THE WEEK
1996 F Reed Delainey (Edam SK) fired three goals and three assists in four games last week, three of which were played on the road.  Delainey, who’s committed to RIT for next Fall, scored a goal at Yorkton and one night later had two assists in Melville. He picked up a goal and an assist on Saturday, at home, to Estevan and then opened the Showcase with a goal against Melfort.  Runner up:  Ben Duperreault, Notre Dame.

IBAS SJHL DEFENSEMAN OF THE WEEK
1996 D Tyler Podkorenko (Nelson BC) contributed two assists on Saturday night as the Hounds hosted Melfort and he also set up a goal on Friday against Melville.  The Hounds rely on the veteran to help stabilize their youthful blue line.  Runner up:  Levi Kleiboer, Battlefords.

SASKTEL SJHL GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK
1999 G Joel Gryzbowski (Saskatoon SK) made his season debut this past week in fine fashion posting a pair of wins and stopped 41-of-42 shots overall, including a shutout of the Melfort Mustangs to kick off the Showcase on Sunday.  Gryzbowski had a 25-save effort in Melville on Wednesday.  Runner up:  Brandon Wells, Melville.

SJHL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
1999 F Adam Dawe (Gander NL) had his first break out game on Saturday night as he fired two goals and one assist against Melfort.  Earlier in the week he had a goal and an assist against Weyburn. Dawe is already committed to the University Of Maine for 2017-18.  Runner up:  Jacob Arsenault, Notre Dame.
