CANALTA HOTELS SJHL PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Josh Fletcher, Kindersley Klippers
1998 F Josh Fletcher (Calgary AB) helped the Klippers win all three games played last week with his biggest contribution coming on Wednesday when he scored a pair of goals in a 3-2 overtime win at Notre Dame. Fletcher, twice, scored the tying goals in that match-up. On Thursday in Weyburn, he scored the tying goal midway through the third period and that set the stage for the Klippers to add two more to earn another W. Fletcher has 11-goals and 7-assists in 23-games overall this season. Runner-up: Zach Bannister, La Ronge.
SJHL DEFENSEMAN OF THE WEEK: Antonio DiPaolo, La Ronge Ice Wolves
1999 D Antonio DiPaolo (Saskatoon SK) helped his club snap a lengthy losing skid this past week and contributed two goals and three assists in three games. DiPaolo is the anchor on a blueline that played well all week, as they fell 4-2 to Kindersley and then managed to pick up three points against the Battlefords North Stars, winning on Thursday and battling for an overtime point on Friday. DiPaolo picked up an assist against the Klippers and then had a goal and an assist in each of the two games versus the North Stars to raise his overall total to 7-goals and 15-assists in 28-games. Runner-up: Blake Kleiner, Kindersley.
SASKTEL SJHL GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK: Ryan Ouellette, Yorkton Terriers
2000 G Ryan Ouellette (Colorado CO) backstopped the Terriers with 74-saves on 78-shots in two games played this past week as the rookie netminder has assumed the number one role on the team, in part, through his performance over the last month. Ouellette went 1-and-1 this week, with his loss being a 2-1 defeat to the Nipawin Hawks. He led the Terriers to a 3-2 overtime win over Estevan earlier in the week and he’s allowed three goals or less in five straight starts. Overall, he’s lowered his GAA to 3.59 and his SPCT sits at an even .900 to go along with a record of 9-and-6. Runner-up: Joel Grzybowski, Battlefords.
DIRECTWEST SJHL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK: Kyle Robinson, Notre Dame Hounds
2001 D Kyle Robinson (Rocky Harbour NL) played one game last week and scored a goal and an assist in a 3-2 shootout loss to the Kindersley Klippers. Robinson opened the scoring and then helped his team take the lead with a powerplay assist late in the second period. Robinson is up to 3-goals and 14-assists in 35-games on the year. Runner-up: Jacob Bourchier, Melville.
