SGEU MVP of the Week: Kian Bell, Battlefords North Stars
The bell’s were ringing plenty this weekend at the ACC in Battlefords as Kian Bell started his 2023 post-season the same way he finished the regular season, by lighting the lamp. In the Stars split against the Weyburn Red Wings, Bell scored five of the Stars seven goals. This included an impressive four goal performance Saturday night in a 5-2 with for the North Stars in Game 2.

Sasktel Goalie of the Week: Harmon Laser-Hume, Flin Flon Bombers
19-year-old Harmon Laser-Hume made his post-season debut this weekend and impressed in two starts for the Bombers, allowing just 3 goals in a pair of Flin Flon wins. The Creston, B.C product stopped 56 of 59 shots over the weekend which works out to being a .949 save percentage.

DirectWest Rookie of the Week: Alexi Sylvestre, Flin Flon Bombers
18-year-old rookie forward Alexi Sylvestre built off of his strong end to the regular season during the first weekend of the playoffs as he played a major role in the Bombers earning a 2-0 series lead over Estevan. Sylvestre found the back of the net in both games at the Whitney Forum and also added an assist in Saturday’s 5-2 victory.

SuperU Defenseman of the Week: Blake Norris, Weyburn Red Wings
The Weyburn Red Wings did something over the weekend that only one other team in the SJHL (the Humboldt Broncos) could do this season, and that’s win a game in regulation at the Access Communications Centre in Battlefords against the North Stars. Defenseman Blake Norris was massive for the Wings in their efforts to steal home ice advantage away from the top ranked Stars. Norris was not only strong in his own end, but found the back of the net and added a pair of assists in the two games in Battlefords this weekend.
