SGEU MVP of the Week: Jake Southgate, Battlefords North Stars

The Battlefords North Stars own a 2-0 series lead in their 2nd road series against the Melfort Mustangs, and Captain Jake Southgate continues to lead the way for his hometown team. In the first two games of the series, Southgate found the back of the net twice and added five assists in a pair of victories. With his strong performance this weekend, Southgate now leads the SJHL in playoff scoring with 4 goals and 13 assists in 7 games.

Sasktel Goalie of the Week: Harmon Laser-Hume, Flin Flon Bombers

Fresh off of being named Sasktel Goalie of the Month for March, Harmon Laser-Hume of the Flin Flon Bombers is also Sasktel Goalie of the Week. The 19-year-old goaltender was rock solid for the Bombers in three wins this week, allowing just one goal in Game 7 against the Estevan Bruins, and then following it up with a pair of victories to kick off round two against the Humboldt Broncos.

DirectWest Rookie of the Week: Alexi Sylvestre, Flin Flon Bombers

Leading the way among rookies in playoff scoring so far in the post-season is Alexi Sylvestre of the Flin Flon Bombers. This past week the 18-year-old opened the scoring in the Bombers 2nd round series against the Humboldt Broncos and also added a pair of assists. In 9 playoff games, Sylvestre now has four goals and four assists.

SuperU Defenseman of the Week: Alex Von Sprecken, Flin Flon Bombers

As the games get more and more important, the play of Alex Von Sprecken continues to get better and better. Following a steady game defensively in Game 7 against his former team the Estevan Bruins, Von Sprecken played a major part in two road wins in Humboldt. The 20-year-old had a goal and an assist in Game 1, and added another pair of assists in Game 2.
