For the first episode of our 2025-26 SJHL RBC Community Ambassadors, we highlight Drew Molde of the Weyburn Red Wings.
RBC Community Ambassadors are recognized for making a difference and giving back to the communities where they play. Each Ambassador is celebrated at an RBC Game Night and honoured with an RBC donation to a school in their local community.
SJHL fans will be able to vote online for the RBC Community Ambassador of their choice to be honoured as the recipient of the RBC Community Award at the end of the SJHL regular season. This additional honour is accompanied by a further donation from RBC in the player’s name to a school in their local community.
Drew’s $1,000 donation from RBC will go to St. Michael School in Weyburn, SK.
According to the Wings, the Moose Jaw, SK native:
Is always one of our hardest workers every day, and one of his most important goals coming into the year was to become a more approachable person and easier to talk to. He is more of a quieter, keep-it-to-yourself kind of guy. He always leads by example when it comes to work ethic and gym habits, but one of his own decisions was to become a more approachable teammate and person. He has become very self-aware and wants to improve his leadership qualities. He sees an area that he can improve at, and is always striving to be better at it. These same habits go along with his community work. He has become more active in the community over his career with the Wings and continues to do so throughout the season.
Molde has been credited with:
Helping care for and play with children at The Family Place, Legacy Elementary School, and St. Michael’s Elementary School.
Helping local restaurants serve (KFC, Boston Pizza, Weyburn Legion).
Helping out at minor hockey practices and public skating.
Odd jobs helping set up, take down, and clean for community organizations.
