SaskPower Rankings: Week 11 – Dec. 2, 2025

SJHL Power Rankings – Week 11 (Dec. 2, 2025)

1. Flin Flon Bombers (Last week 1)

The Bombers were the best team in the league in November, and it was not really close. Mike Reagan’s men won 10 of 11 games in the month, outscoring the opposition 48-25. The final weekend of the month this past week, the Maroon and White handed the Kindersley Klippers two losses with a combined score of 10-3, and put 100 shots on the opposition net in the sweep. Not bad. Flin Flon’s own Wyatt Stinton is off with Team Canada West in the Junior A World Challenge starting Sunday in Quebec.

2. Estevan Bruins (Last week 2)

Other than Tuesday, when they were handled by Yorkton, the Estevan Bruins had a terrific ending to November. Five games at home yielded four wins and 25 goals to move Drew Kocur’s men into a tie with the Bombers for the most goals scored in the SJHL at the time of writing (102). Two tight, entertaining wins over Humboldt were as fun to watch as games have been in the league, and this group has to be full of confidence as the calendar turns.

3. Nipawin Hawks (Last week 5)

Win pretty, win ugly, the Hawks really don’t care. Last week, they blew the doors off Warman and Kindersley at home, then returned home to rally and shock the defending champion Mustangs on the road in overtime. Their 63 goals against are the best in the league, which should put a big smile on Head Coach Tad Kozun’s face. Nipawin’s December is very busy and full of challenges. Still, given their talent, they will likely see it all as an opportunity to keep asserting they belong in the upper echelons of this league.

4. Weyburn Red Wings (Last week 6)

November had its ups and downs for the Wings, but their road win percentage and goals against are the best in the league, demonstrating a deep character in that Weyburn locker room. A split in La Ronge last week had more to do with an excellent performance from the Wolves’ goaltender than anything, and Cody Mapes’ team has potential heroes all over the ice each night.

5. Battlefords North Stars (Last week 4)

The Stars did spend a lot of November at the ACC, with seven of their 10 games at home, but you have to make hay when the sun is up, and they did a solid job at it. They went 6-2-2 over that span, and demonstrated that between Kaden Serpa and Steele Bass, they feel great about their goaltending situation, as they averaged just 2.5 goals against/game in the month. Finlay Klippenstein is emerging as a critical piece of depth behind the big boys up front.

6. Kindersley Klippers (Last week 3)

Some thought the Nutrien Division would be a simple two-horse race between the Humboldt Broncos and the Klippers, but like Humboldt, Kindersley has been less-than-consistent lately. A sweep in Flin Flon last weekend is fair enough given how well the Bombers are playing, but with the trade to send Austin Osiowy to Melfort, and the fact Jaxon Herchak is off to Team Canada West, Kyle Schneider’s defence corps will have something to prove from here on out for the next little while. Their schedule has been really tough in the last half of November, facing almost all of the league’s best teams, with only two games at home.

7. Yorkton Terriers (Last week 8)

All is well at the Westland Arena as this crew keeps proving doubters wrong. In three wins to end the month, Emery Olauson’s men outscored the opposition 16-2 and dominated on all three nights. It will be interesting to see how this team does without their clear leader, Thomas Ries, who is off to Team Canada West for the next couple of weeks. Between the Williams line in Estevan and the Gabriel Courchesne line between Jye Zawatsky and William Leonard in Yorkton, the Bunge Division might have the two best trios in the SJHL.

8. Melville Millionaires (Last week 9)

The Mils could not have been totally sure what they were receiving when they acquired big veteran goaltender Matt Spencer-Dahl from the Manitoba Junior Hockey League, but in a small sample size, they have to be thrilled. Through 120 minutes so far, Spencer-Dahl has given up a single goal, and Melville has won two of their last three to end the month. Goals have come and gone for this group, but the ability to keep them out under Doug Johnson remains, so this team bears watching moving forward now that they appear to have a clear No. 1 goaltender.

9. Melfort Mustangs (Last week 10)

Saturday’s big win over Warman was much-needed as the Mustangs salvaged their final game of an uncharacteristically harsh November. The bad news was that Melfort went 0-6 against playoff teams in the month, but the good news was that they did not have too much trouble, going 3-0 against other teams not in the playoff picture. This team has too much talent to be where they are, and they know it, and it would appear only to be a matter of time before the two-time defending champs get back on track. It will be interesting to see how they fare over the next couple of weeks, as they will be without their coach, Trevor Blevins, and defenceman Tao Flory, both of whom are with Canada West.

10. Humboldt Broncos (Last week 7)

November was a struggle for the Broncos, albeit one marked by injuries, and hope should grow as they keep getting healthier on the back end and add Nathan Da Silva, who should be a terrific addition whose rights were just acquired from La Ronge. Humboldt was very rarely at the comfortable confines of the EPA in November, too, and ran into a red-hot Estevan team at Affinity Place to end the month. Four of their last six games of 2025 are at home, so there are lots of reasons for optimism here. Rylan Hue is off with Canada West as one of two SJHL-based forwards on the team.

11. La Ronge Ice Wolves (Last week 11)

The Wolves have to be feeling the boost of two wins out of a three-game set with the Weyburn Red Wings over seven days, two wins that saw Graham Brown post a combined .964 save percentage. They just added Brock Inglis from Humboldt, who showed flashes in Green and Gold, and Kevin Kaminski has done well to put together a competitive, though very young roster. It’s still rarely any fun facing the Teal.

12. Warman Wolverines (Last week 12)

Not much went right over the last four games to end November for the Wolverines. Still, individuals like Pherson Loehndorf and Kane Kennedy continue to have terrific campaigns despite the new franchise’s difficulty in finding results. Goaltender Taye Timmerman was brilliant as the team showed the league’s parity by being the only club to beat Flin Flon in the month, and the 2007-born netminder from Winnipeg is off to show his abilities with Team Canada West. Coach Pilkington keeps tinkering with this roster, and as long as Vinny Palmarin is available, they have a pair of the best defencemen in the league.
