SaskPower Rankings: Week 12 – Dec. 9, 2025

SJHL Power Rankings – Week 12 (Dec. 9, 2025)

1. Flin Flon Bombers (Last week 1)

An entertaining, fast-paced, and hard-nosed weekend split with the Nipawin Hawks provided a glimpse of what a late-round SJHL playoff series could look like. The Bombers still threw a ton of rubber at the Nipawin net, and Mike Reagan’s team feels just a piece or two away from being the definitive class of the league.

2. Estevan Bruins (Last week 2)

The Bruins just came off five games in nine days, and three-in-three this past weekend. Wins over Warman and Humboldt this weekend mean this group continues to mean business, and the addition of the talented defender Caleb Potter from the WHL is another in a long line of terrific new pieces to show up (or show back up) at Affinity Place.

3. Nipawin Hawks (Last week 3)

The Hawks showed they can hang with the best this weekend, taking a fun split with the Flin Flon Bombers. There are so many pieces on this team, but there just isn’t one more critical than Gage Roberts, who is the rock in net of what should make this team as tough to beat as any as we reach the end of 2025.

4. Battlefords North Stars (Last week 5)

Battlefords had a strange three-games-in-three-nights in that it started at home on Friday, and ended with two on the road. Wins over Estevan and Weyburn in those tilts are more evidence that this group is no fluke. Finlay Klippenstein’s wild run of goals, and the health of Raiden Zacharias, among others, mean Connor Logan’s men have found that depth up front they were looking for.

5. Weyburn Red Wings (Last week 4)

It’s hard to imagine the Wings will last out of the Top 4 very long, and if it were not for a nasty bout of illness through the locker room, they might have stayed in. They still managed four points out of six this past week and have three of their five remaining games before the break at home. Lucas Schmid’s 17-game point streak, which dates back to September, continues and is the league’s longest active streak.

6. Kindersley Klippers (Last week 6)

The Klippers likely have had the most demanding schedule in the league lately in terms of strength of opponent, and that, more than anything, is likely what accounts for their ups and downs as November turned to December. A hard-fought split with Yorkton was expected to be tight, and it was, and the distance between games is likely a welcome respite for a team trying to find its footing again. Despite the .500 hockey over their last 10, the Klips are still only four points off first, though they sit in fifth place at the time of writing.

7. Melville Millionaires (Last week 8)

There are not too many more veteran coaching matchups than last week’s clash between Melville’s Doug Johnson and Melfort’s Trevor Blevins. So, for the Mils to pull out two wins has to mean a lot to the Moneymen, who feel terrific about their recent goal prevention; they have given up a paltry six goals in their last five contests. Melville is in a playoff position again, and with Matthew Spencer-Dahl dominating in the crease with back-to-back SGEU MVP of the Week nods, they don’t look like they’re slowing down either.

8. Yorkton Terriers (Last week 7)

Some wondered whether this Yorkton team could hang without their superstar Thomas Ries, who is gone at the Junior A World Challenge. Well, they gave up only eight in three games against two outstanding offences in Weyburn and Kindersley, and pulled out three points from six. They will be happy when Ries comes back, but this team is clearly more than the sum of its parts.

9. Humboldt Broncos (Last week 10)

Ninth might be a tad unfair to the Broncos, who threw 100 shots combined over two games at the La Ronge and Estevan nets this past weekend. They only managed two out of four points, but Nathan Da Silva looks like the exact piece the Broncos needed on the back end. Their schedule to end 2025 is manageable, though not easy, and they certainly have the talent to get this train back on the tracks.

10. Melfort Mustangs (Last week 9)

The lack of return given the immense talent and experience in this Mustangs group is a puzzle. In typical Trevor Blevins fashion, they have given up the third-fewest goals against but have also scored the second-fewest. Two losses to Melville this past weekend had plenty to do with the brilliance of Matt Spencer-Dahl in the Mils’ net, but it will be interesting to see how different, or similar, their roster looks between now and the Jan. 10 trade deadline.

11. Warman Wolverines (Last week 12)

Friday’s win over La Ronge was much-needed and further highlighted that the defence pairing of Vinny Palmarin and Pherson Loehndorf is as elite as any in the SJHL. It has not gone to plan in the new franchise’s first year, but this team is already five wins away from matching Notre Dame’s total from all of last season, so baby steps are being taken.

12. La Ronge Ice Wolves (Last week 11)

Losses last weekend to Warman and Humboldt have the Wolves reeling a bit, but there is just so much to like about this group for the second half. Behind ultra-high character and compete Graham Brown in net, the young corps looks to keep taking on what Kevin Kaminski is teaching, and be a tough out for anyone moving forward.
