SJHL Power Rankings – Week 20 (Feb. 17, 2026)
1. Flin Flon Bombers (Last week 1)
The Bombers had their long unbeaten run snapped Friday in Kindersley, but responded the right way Saturday with a matching 4-1 win after the previous day’s 4-1 loss. Eight of their final 10 games are at the Whitney Forum, and with a three-point lead and two games in hand for first place, Mike Reagan has his men in good shape. The only question is whether they will reach full health by the playoffs, because, like a lot of teams, they are far off in that regard right now.
2. Yorkton Terriers (Last week 2)
Just like Flin Flon, Yorkton had its long win streak ended this weekend, falling to a desperate Estevan on Valentine’s Day. They rallied Monday to take down the Humboldt Broncos, though, and have their last four games of February at home. Friday’s victory over Warman means that both seasons under Emery Olauson have yielded 30+ wins, and with a manageable schedule the rest of the way, optimism is sky high at the Westland Arena.
3. Battlefords North Stars (Last week 4)
Connor Logan’s men bounced back well from last week’s tough night in Nipawin with three strong wins. They took down La Ronge twice and Kindersley by a combined score of 15-4, and like Yorkton, end February with a manageable schedule. Owen Nelson has been red hot on the right of Alessio Nardelli and Drew Williamson, in one of the league’s hottest second-half lines, and as always, it’s a new hero every night for the Silver and Black.
4. Weyburn Red Wings (Last week 5)
February has been a tough schedule for the Wings, and it has shown in some up-and-down results. The Wings were .500 in a busy week, but are still right in the mix for home-ice in Round 1. Josh Sale has come alive lately and earned Bourgault Forward of the Week honours, and as deep as this group is, they are another beast when the elite Sale is firing on all cylinders.
5. Nipawin Hawks (Last week 3)
The Hawks were flying all February, so maybe they were due for a tough weekend. Hard-fought losses to Weyburn and Estevan on a southern swing pushed Nipawin into fourth, four points behind No. 3 Yorkton, but this team has bounced back from adversity all year. Their next three games are at home, and this is one of the toughest teams in the league at their own rink. Mason Karakochuk and Eric Hoiness still look unstoppable up front.
6. Melfort Mustangs (Last week 6)
Melfort has been terrific in one-goal games this decade, and so it stands to reason that four of the six wins on this current streak were by a single marker. Two of their three wins this week were of the dramatic, come-from-behind, overtime variety, and their trade deadline, where the biggest move they made might have been not to sell at all, has borne major fruit. They are still not over the hump, though, as they are one point back of the playoff line at the time of writing.
7. Melville Millionaires (Last week 8)
The Mils’ three games in four days yielded two important wins, including a rough one over Weyburn in Weyburn, which is especially important given it’s the Mils’ turn to head north to the Whitney Forum this weekend coming up. Kale Margolis is awake again, and the power play as a result is firing on all cylinders, and at just the right time.
8. Estevan Bruins (Last week 10)
Estevan’s long skid to start February coincided with an injury to their superstar Ewan Rennie and an eight-game, nine-game road run. So, with a home game and Rennie back to his magical ways, it should not come as a huge surprise that this team found ways to beat Nipawin and Yorkton this weekend. Still, they needed the victories big time, though they have only three of their final nine games at Affinity Place. Credit where it’s due, however, as the Hawks and Terriers were two of the league’s hottest teams coming into Valentine’s Day.
9. Humboldt Broncos (Last week 7)
Humboldt’s February has yielded nothing but wild, tight contests. They started the month with five straight 3-2 games, three of which they won, though they let leads slip away in two of the last three contests. Inconsistency is expected in a group so young, but they keep competing and have a good shot at any of the bottom five fighting for the last three postseason spots.
10. Kindersley Klippers (Last week 9)
The Klippers proved once again they are capable of anything after they handled the Flin Flon Bombers to end their long unbeaten streak this past week. Still, two games after, two losses were yielded, albeit against two of the league’s best: a rematch with the Bombers and a clash with their west Sask rival, the Battlefords North Stars. They are just holding on to that last playoff spot, and truly seem capable of beating anyone on their night.
11. Warman Wolverines (Last week 11)
Injuries and fatigue seem to be hitting this young team as their inaugural season winds down, but there is no sense of quit at all, which is a great credit to captain Vinny Palmarin and the leadership group in general. A tough overtime loss against Melfort on the weekend was marred by a late string of penalties against it, though this team has been disciplined most nights.
12. La Ronge Ice Wolves (Last week 12)
The Ice Wolves worked but ran into a hot, determined and veteran Battlefords team over the weekend and had a tough go of it. For the most part, the offence has shown up in February, and they have four of five games at home in March. They do look good as favourites to have the first overall pick in the next SJHL Draft.
