REGINA, SK – Ethan Sautner tied the contest with 1:34 remaining in regulation, and Brock Evans and Van Eger scored in the shootout as the Kindersley Klippers rallied to edge the Melfort Mustangs 4-3 in the skills competition Saturday.

Five of the six goals in regulation time were scored in 10 minutes in the third period between the 8:25 and 18:26 marks.

Elsewhere, in Humboldt, the Broncos got the only goal in the shootout from Jacob Strizzi and outlasted the Flin Flon Bombers 4-3 at the Elgar Petersen Arena.

Charlie Tritt made 38 stops for his league-high 9th victory of the campaign.

The Yorkton Terriers showed character when they bounced back from a heavy defeat at home Friday with a big 7-2 of their own Saturday in Warman.

William Leonard exploded for four goals to earn his first career SJHL hat trick.

Melville had a bounce back of its own as Rylan Oatman scored the winner 2:05 into the third period and Noah Sinagowitz made 22 stops in the victory. The Millionaires had fallen 6-3 to the Wolverines the night before.

Finally, in Estevan, the Bruins and Battlefords North Stars wrapped up their two-game weekend set with more offence.

Adam Konawalchuk led the way with a hat trick and an assist as the Stars demonstrated a balanced attack en route to an 8-4 triumph.

The teams combined for 25 goals over the two games.
